My first open-eyed girlie. Thanks to the amazing work of Lew Keller from the 1940′s and ’50s at UPA, I fell in love with learning to draw girlies. No one’s complained yet, but I’ve only drawn these gals with eyes closed, which I think gives them a certain grace and style that I love. This is my first attempt at figuring out for myself how to draw them with eyes open, ’cause in comics (and life) people talk with eyes open and closed. Anyway, I’m getting there. Wish I’d not narfed up her chinline when I was inking, but “don’t look back, only forward” and all that.
