Gettin’ My Groove Back

I was hornery, grumpy, you name it, from not drawing for a week. Too much work. Too much bullsh!t getting in the way. F*ck all that. I went to sketch group, though I wasn’t sure why, and then I found out. With fellow artists around me, beginning with the amazing Henry Eudy, then Chrissie Zullo, then Jason, newcomer Taylor and new friends Nick and Myron, I was grooving. That’s why we do sketch group, even when we don’t know why. It just works. Anyway, I threw off my rust, got some sketches down, and discovered that I love, love, LOVE “pencilling” in ink rather than pencil. I used a Pitt brush pen for the rough lines on my second attempt, then went in with my Kuretake #40 and gave that yeti what it needed. I drew a yeti, my first ever, totally inspired by Chrissie, who’s the world’s biggest yeti freak. :)
