Aww, heck, the head’s a bit too large and out of proportion, and the left hand’s too small … but it is just a sketch. Gotta get a lot more of these warmups out and online! I love, love, LOVE going from 2B pencil to a Prismacolor 935 Black, then erasing the 2B, then “inking” with a rollerball eGel pen + the Prismacolor again + a Copic Multiliner. Popped this one out in no time instead of spending too much time worrying about “finishing” something in the warts ‘n all sketchbook.
Tom is a self-published cartoonist and artist/writer of Circle City Tales. He is a proud member of Comicopia and Sketch Charlotte, and also works as a fashion retail art director in Charlotte, NC. When not drawing you might find Tom on the yoga mat, vegetable gardening, drinking a cold one, or snapping a few Polaroids with his vintage camera ... or just daydreaming about mysterious things that go bump in the night. He is married to yoga instructor Yvonne Brown, and they have two cats, Tabla and Maizie, who actually own the house they live in.
